Pathway: launching a next-gen data and AI platform

Challenge

Pathway approached The Flywheelers ahead of the launch of its data processing engine. The team wanted to raise awareness for its unique approach to combining batch and streaming data, and the impact that it would have on the development of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

Approach

The Flywheelers worked with Pathway to develop a narrative for the announcement that would clearly articulate the technical capabilities of its platform and educate on the benefits of combining batch and streaming workflow, while still appealing to higher-tier media that wouldn’t typically cover B2B product announcements. Armed with the elevated messaging around the platform’s potential for enabling AI to unlearn, the team then forensically mapped journalists and developed targeted pitches for national and business media, and those focused on data and AI. After the news launch, The Flywheelers developed a series of thought leadership angles which enabled Pathway to promote the benefits of its platforms to enterprises and developers.

Impact

The Flywheelers secured stand-out coverage for the announcement in The Next Web, Datanami and Tech.eu, and more. Pitching national media around the announcement also resulted in interviews with the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times, the latter of which resulted in coverage and an invitation for Pathway’s CEO to participate in the closing panel on AI at the 2023 Sifted Summit.

Following an initial three-month project, Pathway extended its partnership with The Flywheelers, where it focused on securing data and developer-focused thought leadership, as well as podcast opportunities with Tech News Daily and The Futurists.
